Welcome to our on line learning resource Transformations: Politics and Protest in County Down 1900-1920s.
This resource has been designed for pupils and teachers at Key Stage 3 to explore a selection of objects, documents and photographs from Down County Museum’s collection which relate to the period from 1900 to the 1920s, a period of great change in County Down, Ireland and the world.
The images here are accompanied by a series of questions which will help pupils use the sources to increase their understanding of this period and relate what was happening on the national and world stage to the experiences of people in County Down.

The learning activities included here are designed for Key Stage Three pupils but the gallery of images can be used by pupils at Key Stage 4 and beyond.

This on line learning resource has been produced by Down County Museum during the course of our PEACE III funded community history project. The project aims to build positive relations between and within communities in Down, North Down and the Ards area through participation in a range of learning programmes which explore issues of cultural and community identity. The project seeks to promote learning about the beliefs, customs and traditions of different communities, encourage cross community initiatives and create opportunities to address issues of sectarianism and racism.
