Museum library

The museum library holds a collection of books relating to the history of County Down, St Patrick and the early Christian Church, transportation to Australia, crime and punishment, as well as some fiction by local writers.

Primary source material includes OS and townland maps of County Down, transcripts of the diaries of Aynsworth Pilson, copies of William Johnson's newspaper, The Downshire Protestant, indexes to the Down Recorder and Mourne Observer and complete bound copies of the Lecale Miscellany (journal of the Lecale Historical Society)

Researchers can use the library, by appointment, during the museum's weekday opening hours.
