This exhibition includes objects and photographs from the Downe and Downshire Hospitals in Downpatrick, about medicine in the home, GPs, district nurses and maternity care.
The Museum has a large collection of objects relating to health care, from surgical instruments to home remedies. These have been donated by doctors, nurses, hospitals and even patients! A large donation from the Downe Hospital is still being sorted and catalogued. The exhibition gives a glimpse into the collection, and shows how medical care has changed, or stayed the same, over the years.
Exhibition concludes on 31st January 2013.
